‘Slumdog Millionaire’ makers respond to criticism over pay to two young actors – Los Angeles Times.

I can understand some of the moral issues the creators of the film had: Do you not include children from the slums or include them, knowing that you can’t take them from their situations in one fell swoop? Still, knowing that the young actors that played Lakita and Salim are still in the slums is a sobering reminder of the sadness that made one of my all-time favorite movements so beautifully rich.
