PolitiFact | The Obameter: Tracking Barack Obama’s Campaign Promises.

Okay, yes I think it’s important to make sure that our new president is held accountable, and he did promise us a new era of transparency in government, but there wasn’t nearly this much scrutiny on our last president’s first 100 days, and this was after an election that many people felt was stolen.

Is this a case of “once bitten, twice shy,” a renewed interest in “checks and balances,” or is this, dare I say, unfair?

It’s like going to the bathroom after someone yakked all over the place, and when you get out, people are judging you on how well YOU cleaned it up. Yes, you have to clean it up to do your job, but you didn’t make the mess in the first place.
