Freedom Reeves is my creative homepage. The purpose of this blog is both self-serving and altruistic: To get stuff out of my head. It’s altruistic in the sense that this “stuff” is pretty interesting. The stuff in my head often includes social justice commentary on current affairs, media and pop culture analysis, reflections of relationships and self-improvement, and video clips. LOTS of video clips. I have a gift for finding good stuff.
Origin of the name: All staff and students at my day gig get email addresses with their first, middle and last initials, followed by a random number. On my first day, I got my email address: cfrxx@xxxxx.xxx. I called the IT office and explained that my middle initial was “e”, not “f”. They said that they wouldn’t be able to change it. When I told my supervisor about this, I said, “What tha heck does “f” stand for? “Freedom?” she said. We both laughed heartily, then I realized that I like it. The rest is history.
